Hi-ya Folks!

If you love to listen to music on something other than an old fashioned radio station, CNET has an article for you.  Listing the best known music streaming services, the story shows you the advantages and disadvantages as well as the cost for services.  Some are free if you’re willing to listen to an occasional commercial.  Most run about $10 a month for unlimited listening.  All feature great quality via the Web without static or signal fade.  Of course when talking about technology, nothing is perfect with app bugs and the like, but with a story from Norway last week in which the country is eliminating FM radio for mobile data transmission, it doesn’t take a genius to see where the future of radio is going.  http://www.cnet.com/how-to/best-music-streaming-service/#ftag=CADf328eec

YouTube turned 10 years old this week and what was the first video uploaded became viral – again.  “Me at the zoo” was the first video and to look at it now, shows just how far video cameras have come. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/04/24/first-youtube-video_n_7132898.html

In the decade since it began, YouTube has provided a platform for all sorts of videos.  It has become a go-to place to learn home fix-ups, too.  In this article from Lifehacker Kyle James, here is the best list of how-to videos for the home fix-up projects you have in mind.  http://lifehacker.com/the-best-diy-youtube-channels-to-turn-you-into-a-fix-it-1699686543

Of course, when you’re number one, it means people are always gunning to take your top spot.  Hello Facebook, which is fast becoming a video sharing big shot.  After all, look at the advantages of Facebook … When you upload a video, it is automatically added to your Timeline, and the Newsfeed, but you can also share it.  Facebook’s social graph is a potent advantage over YouTube, according to Owen Williams of The Next Web.  Read more of what he has to say about it here … http://thenextweb.com/opinion/2015/04/23/facebook-video-is-on-course-to-steal-youtubes-video-sharing-crown/

For the majority of computer users, Windows 10 is the new operating system to look for when upgrading.  Microsoft is still shooting for this summer, but in the meantime has been releasing technical updates for the user who signed up to help test and improve the system.  Good news, the latest version has some bug fixes and new features like a  calendar and the personal assistant, Cortana.  It also is bringing back the old Solitaire game we all used to play on the older systems.  All this means MS is listening to the testers and creating a final product every PC user will want to download and install.  Check out all the things Windows 10 has in store from the PC Pro website.  http://www.pcpro.co.uk/operating-systems/25290/windows-10-release-date-and-latest-news-technical-preview-build-10061/page/0/1

A woman goes to a doctor for a physical checkup. The nurse starts with certain basic items.
“How much do you weigh?” she asks.
“One-fifty.” she says.
The nurse puts her on the scale. It turns out that her weight is 173.
The nurse asks, “Your height?”
“Five-ten.” she says.
The nurse checks and sees that she’s only 5′ 7 1/2″.
She then takes her blood pressure, and it’s very high.
The woman explains, “Of course it’s high. When I came in here, I was tall and wiry. Now, I’m short and fat!”
(Thanks, Mike)

While he was visiting, my father asked for the password to our Wi-Fi.
“It’s taped under the modem,” I told him.
After three failed attempts to log on, he asked, “Am I spelling this right? T-A-P-E-D-U-N-D-E-R-T-H-E-M-O-D-E-M?”
(Thanks, Karen)

Have a great weekend friends, and may God bless you and keep you safe.
