Hi-ya WebLetter readers!

Tomorrow is Valentines Day, so I can imagine at this very moment someone is reading this, panicking over the fact he or she has forgotten (usually it’s a ‘he’) and is running out the door and heading to the closest store for card, chocolates and flowers. If this is you, the rest of this WebLetter can wait until you get the chance to do first things first. If you don’t fit into that category, continue reading, and enjoy!

For years, Picasa has been a fast and easy way to organize your photos making them easy to access and share. But Google’s photo program is about to be phased out as their new Photos program has taken over making photos and videos easy to share with anyone online. Frankly, because I am a fan of Goggle Photos, it doesn’t matter to me. If you have been using Picasa, fear not, as Google will be moving your material into their new Photos for free. Read all about it … http://googlephotos.blogspot.com/2016/02/moving-on-from-picasa.html

According to a New York Times article I just read, teleporting may become the thing to do in the world of real estate as virtual reality is moving its users through properties both real and imagined with the help of a mask. If this sounds like something from a futuristic movie, you’re right. Using a 360 degree movie that plays while wearing a Samsung Gear headset, your brain tricks you into believing you are inside a house, apartment or office building. You can move from room to room and experience being inside the dwelling. According to Matthew J. Leone, the senior vice president of digital marketing for Terra Holdings, “Imagine a buyer walking out onto the terrace and thinking: ‘If I bought this home and was having breakfast here, this is exactly what I’d see.’ That’s incredible. For a salesman, it’s a dream come true.” http://www.nytimes.com/2016/02/14/realestate/virtual-reality-to-sell-homes.html?_r=0

This next piece is just for iPhone and iPad users. If you own a PC, Windows 10 is being forced on PC owners and there is very little that can be done about it. If Microsoft has deemed your computer powerful enough to run the newest installment of the Windows software, then they have already tried to install it with one of their Updates that automatically happens when you try to shut down your device. Then, it seems, when you power it up, the PC runs slower. It seems that a slower running computer is to make you realize you need to upgrade the system to Windows 10. But what if you like using Windows 7? Is this fair of Microsoft to do this? In this article, read what they are doing and how your machine is being hijacked. http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/microsoft-strikes-not-upgrade-windows-10/

Tablet computer users, new articles in iTab Magazine include info on the soon to be released iPad Air 3, and a free app for storing your passwords. Read about it … http://iTab.jimonline.com
