Jim’s WebLetter for 4/2/16

Hi-ya Friends!

This week, I have some interesting things to show and tell in this issue of JWL. See what you think.

A friend of mine showed me an online test designed to help you realize your type of personality. “You’re someone you ought to get to know better”, is the slogan they use in the Myers-Briggs Personality Test. This confidential test is based on Carl Jung’s and Isabel Briggs Myers’ typological approach to personality. It takes about 10 minutes and it’s result will help you determine career paths and occupations most suitable for your personality type along with examples of educational institutions where you can get a relevant degree or training. It can also reveal communication and learning styles of your type. As a bonus, see which famous personalities share your type. Since it’s free to take the test, isn’t it worth 10 minutes of your time? https://www.mbtionline.com

As long as you’re learning about yourself, how about helping your body to shape up with a dietary plan? Before you decide you’re not interested in anything else I have to offer in this WebLetter, just give Eat This Much a try. Treat this website as your virtual Dietitian. Enter your dietary plans to get recommendations from this website along with a grocery list that you would need to follow the diet for the entire week. Granted, not everything you see on the list is something you may want to eat. I am personally not fond of Avocados, but there are other foods that can be substituted like a large bowl of ice cream ( just kidding ). I look at it as a free nutrition guide rather than paying bucks to have someone tell me to eat what this website says I should eat. https://www.eatthismuch.com/

When I decide it’s time to divert my attention and play a brain game, I like to play a game my dad taught me when I was 8. Chess. I used to own a small, portable chess set I would take to school and play with friends who were also learning. Now, years later, some of my grandkids are learning and want to play whenever I come over. The beauty of the game is in the number of plays you can make in a game that teaches strategy and teamwork. Yes, you can learn to play with the help of Chesscademy, an interactive website that offers a fun way to learn how to play a game of Chess. The website also features tons of videos and puzzles to master yourself in the game. I have a chess game on my iPad that I play on a regular basis. And brain games are good for keeping dementia away. https://www.chesscademy.com/
