Hi-ya Folks!

Gmail users, you now have an option to stop sending an email. Maybe you saw an incorrect spelling or meant to add additional information or a photo before instinctively hitting the Send button. Called, Undo Send, this feature is now available but must be activated as the default is set to “off”. To enable Undo Send, open Gmail and click the gear in the top right. Select Settings. Scroll down to “Undo Send” and click Enable. Set the cancellation period (the amount of time you have to decide if you want to unsend an email). Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page. https://support.google.com/mail/answer/1284885?hl=en

Google has been working on the idea of providing free WIFI to the masses by using an old communication device. Beginning in New York City, Google is converting the old phone booths into ad-supported ‘Wi-Fi pylons’. These converted booths are also intended to provide cell-phone charging, free domestic phone calls and a touch screen information hub about the city and transit directions. Creating the company called Sidewalk Labs, it’s expected to roll out the pylons this fall. http://www.socialsongbird.com/2015/06/google-re-purpose-old-phone-booths-into.html

Maybe you remember when Tang became the breakfast drink of the astronauts? The hype made it such a popular drink, it’s still sold today. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tang_(drink) Microsoft has yet to announce when it will release the headset known as HoloLens, but plans are already underway to provide the apparatus to NASA astronauts occupying the space station. Microsoft hasn’t said how much it may cost but it’s clear that the company aims to get people excited about HoloLens and other devices powered by its Windows 10 operating system well ahead of the on-sale date. http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/gadgets-and-tech/news/nasa-astronauts-to-take-microsofts-hololens-augmented-reality-headset-to-space-10347554.html

Finally, it has been some week for news. In a close vote, the Supreme Court votes to allow gay marriage in all 50 U.S. States despite what voters had to say, and because one young guy killed 9 black people in Charleston, all the Confederate flags are no longer tolerated either for sale in major chair stores or in games and toys. The irony in the latter may be that “Apple Purges Confederate Flags, But Leaves Swastikas And Nazis Alone”. In the article written by Gregory Ferenstein, he points out, “The choice to ban a symbol of slavery, but not of mass genocide, highlights how tech companies struggle to apply hate speech guidelines — often with strange inconsistency. It’s obviously a gray area, one that could pose a real conundrum for app developers forced to comply with confusing rules”. Clearly, as he has stated, fast developing stories and resulting rule changes have ramifications not thought out before enacted. http://readwrite.com/2015/06/25/apple-app-store-developers-confederate-flag-swastika-nazi

This late breaking news piece came in … Apple has decided that the Confederate flag in at least one of the games conforms to its policy stating that as long as it’s not used in an offensive or mean spirited way, it’s OK. Ultimate General, a historical game of the war between the states, has been reinstated. http://appleinsider.com/articles/15/06/26/apple-reinstates-select-games-with-confederate-flag-art-to-ios-app-store

anyway?
